Atlassian Expands Jira With Governed AI Agents for Software Development
Atlassian is introducing governed agent loops to help engineering teams move beyond one-off AI prompts and automate more of the software development lifecycle. The new Jira capabilities give AI agents the context, permissions, standards, and oversight needed to complete development tasks continuously without removing human control.
Code Context gives AI agents secure access to relevant information across multiple code repositories.
Agent loops in Jira identify suitable backlog items, assign them to a coding agent, run tests, and create pull requests for human review.
Standards and AI Review apply organizational coding rules consistently and check every pull request before it reaches developers.
Agent Context Controls let platform teams decide which agents can operate in specific spaces and what information they can access.
DX for Agentic Development and Jira Agent Usage Dashboard measure agent adoption, cost, quality, productivity, and overall impact.
Atlassian’s goal is to turn AI-assisted development from a collection of isolated experiments into a governed, measurable, and always-on system. Developers and product managers remain responsible for reviewing and approving what ships, while agents handle more of the work leading up to that decision. Read More

PMNA TUTORIAL: How to Check Team Capacity on Asana Before Committing to a Deadline Using Claude
This tutorial explains how project managers can use Claude and the Asana MCP connector to check for deadline conflicts before promising a delivery date. The method reviews an assignee’s existing workload across visible projects and provides useful capacity numbers in about 60–90 seconds.
Key Steps:
Confirm Asana capabilities — Check which task, assignee, date-range, workspace and completion-history searches the connector supports.
Collect the required identifiers — Retrieve the workspace and project GIDs needed to run each check.
Define the weekly timeframe — Use a consistent Monday-to-Sunday week and specify the current date.
Measure data coverage — Calculate how many incomplete tasks have both an assignee and due date before trusting the results.
Map the project workload — Group upcoming tasks by assignee and week to reveal workload spikes and deadline collisions.
Expand across the workspace — Check the selected person’s tasks across every visible project, not only the project requesting the new deadline.
Compare against recent history — Measure the target week against the assignee’s eight-week median completed-task count.
Review task size manually — Examine task names or available estimate fields because task counts do not represent effort equally.
Check surrounding weeks — Review the weeks before and after the deadline to account for preparation time and possible spillover.
Present numbers, not verdicts — Use the findings to start a conversation with the assignee instead of letting AI declare them available or overloaded.
Why it matters:
The process provides a quick, read-only way to catch potential workload conflicts before a deadline is accepted. Although it cannot see meetings, leave, private work or the true effort behind every task, it gives project managers stronger evidence for making realistic commitments.
Canva Releases Affinity 3.3 To Bring New AI and Automation Tools to Product Teams
Canva has released Affinity 3.3, a major update to its free creative application that combines photo editing, vector design, and page layout in one platform. The update introduces more than 60 features, including new design tools, workflow automation, AI-powered image processing, and Adobe InDesign file support.
The new Mask and Deform tools make it easier to isolate, reshape, and reposition elements within images.
A live Blend Tool creates editable transitions between vector objects, including changes in shape, colour, size, opacity, and position.
The new Scripting Studio lets users write or AI-generate JavaScript to automate repetitive tasks across documents.
Paid Canva subscribers gain local and cloud-based AI features for upscaling, noise reduction, object detection, image decomposition, and 3D generation.
Affinity can now import Adobe InDesign files directly and has joined Canva ProSuite alongside Cavalry, Leonardo.AI, and Flourish.
Affinity 3.3 expands the free application into a more capable all-in-one platform for photographers, designers, illustrators, and publishing professionals. Its combination of advanced creative tools, automation, and optional AI features also strengthens Canva’s push into professional design workflows. Read More
TOOL REVIEW: is.team Helps Teams Work With AI Agents on Project Boards
is.team is an AI-powered project management platform that brings Kanban boards, visual planning, team collaboration and workflow automation together on an infinite canvas. Unlike traditional project tools that use AI only to generate suggestions, is.team allows external agents such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor to work directly on project boards, manage tasks and communicate with team members.
AI Agents on the Project Board: Connect MCP-compatible AI agents that can read tasks, create or update work, move cards, leave comments and respond inside live task conversations.
Infinite Visual Workspace: Arrange Kanban boards, project notes and connected workflows across a flexible canvas that shows how work moves between teams and project stages.
AI-Powered Project Planning: Describe a project in natural language and the Workflow Planner generates phases, tasks, priorities, story points, timelines and suggested team assignments.
Automated Meeting-to-Task Workflow: Record meetings or process transcripts from Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams to generate summaries, action items, priorities and assigned tasks automatically.
Integrations and Natural-Language Automation: Connect GitHub, Slack, Google Drive, Figma, Google Calendar, Zapier and Make, then use simple written instructions to route tasks, notify teammates and update workflows.
For project managers, is.team can reduce the manual work involved in planning projects, documenting meetings, assigning responsibilities and keeping task boards updated. Its combination of visual planning, connected tools and active AI agents gives project managers a central workspace where both people and AI can coordinate work and move projects forward.
