Global Cloudflare Outage Hits ChatGPT, Canva, and Other Platforms

Yesterday, 18 November 2025, Cloudflare experienced a global infrastructure malfunction that triggered widespread error messages across many websites and apps. The fault was traced to an oversized configuration file disrupting the company’s traffic-management systems.

• The outage began around 11:48 GMT and was declared resolved by about 14:48 GMT, though some services still saw residual error rates afterward.

• A configuration file which automates “bot mitigation” and threat-traffic routing grew beyond expected size and crashed the system; Cloudflare emphasised it was not a malicious attack.
