Microsoft Teams Rolls Out New Custom Features in August Update
In August 2025, Microsoft Teams rolled out a suite of enhancements focused on customization, productivity, and security. These updates empower users to tailor their Teams experience, safeguard against malicious content, and streamline common workflows.
Custom commands & layouts: Users can now create their own keyboard shortcuts or choose from preset layouts inspired by other apps.
Malicious URL warnings: Teams now alerts users when a suspicious link may lead to unsafe content, helping protect against phishing threats.
Enhanced search filters: Users can refine chat or channel searches to only display messages with attachments, making it easier to locate documents.
Multiple emoji reactions: You can express more nuance by reacting to messages with more than one emoji.
Saved messages view: A dedicated “Saved” section lets you easily access any posts, replies, or chat messages you’ve bookmarked.
The ability to personalize shortcuts and layouts can significantly boost efficiency by reducing clicks and navigating time. Enhanced search capabilities and saved message access streamline information retrieval—vital when managing multiple threads or important documents. Plus, improved security with malicious link detection helps protect sensitive project communications from threats. Overall, these enhancements elevate both productivity and safety within Teams, aligning well with the demands of complex project management workflows. Read More
