Attackers are embedding n8n webhook URLs in phishing emails to deliver malware and track victims.
The abuse relies on trusted domains, helping malicious traffic evade traditional security defenses.
Email campaigns using these techniques have surged, with activity rising over 600%+ since early 2025.
Some attacks use fake document links and CAPTCHA pages to trick users into triggering malware downloads.
Beyond malware delivery, attackers also use webhooks for device fingerprinting and data collection.
Overall, the campaign shows a shift in attacker strategy—from exploiting vulnerabilities to abusing legitimate platforms as attack infrastructure.
