OpenAI Integrates Codex With Figma to Merge Design and Development
OpenAI and Figma have expanded their partnership with a new integration that connects OpenAI’s Codex directly with the Figma design platform. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between design and development by allowing teams to move seamlessly between writing code and creating visual interfaces. By combining AI-powered coding with Figma’s collaborative design environment, the integration aims to speed up product development from concept to deployment.
OpenAI introduced a Codex–Figma integration that enables a seamless workflow between code and design tools.
The integration uses a Figma MCP Server, allowing Codex to connect directly with Figma’s platform and tools like Figma Make and FigJam.
Developers can generate Figma design files directly from code, or convert existing UI code into editable Figma designs for iteration.
Teams can move fluidly between prompts, design canvases, and implementation, enabling a “roundtrip workflow” from idea to product.
The integration builds on a broader partnership that already includes OpenAI models embedded in Figma tools and a Figma app inside ChatGPT.
The partnership reflects a broader shift toward AI-assisted product development where design and engineering workflows increasingly overlap. By connecting Codex’s coding capabilities with Figma’s design canvas, OpenAI and Figma aim to make building software faster, more collaborative, and accessible to both designers and developers. The integration signals a future where AI tools help translate ideas into working products with far less friction between creative and technical teams. Read More
PMNA TUTORIAL: Automating Stakeholder Status Updates Using Make.com
Project and product managers often spend significant time compiling updates from various project management tools before sending reports to stakeholders. This manual process slows down communication and increases the risk of inconsistent reporting. By using Make.com, teams can automate stakeholder status updates—automatically collecting project data, formatting progress summaries, and delivering them to the right people on a scheduled basis.
You’ll learn to:
Define the stakeholder reporting structure and metrics
Create a centralized reporting database for historical tracking
Build a Make.com scenario to orchestrate the automation
Schedule the automation to run at regular intervals
Pull task and progress data from tools like Jira, ClickUp, or Asana
Categorize tasks by status such as completed, in progress, or blocked
Format the collected data into a readable status report
Optionally generate executive summaries using AI
Store each report in a database for visibility and auditability
Automatically send updates to stakeholders via Slack or email
Why it matters:
Automating stakeholder updates transforms reporting from a manual task into a reliable system that runs in the background. Teams gain consistent communication, improved transparency, and a historical record of project progress. For project and product managers, this automation frees up valuable time to focus on execution, strategy, and team coordination rather than compiling reports.
Microsoft Updates OneDrive With Clearer Sync Error Messages
Microsoft is improving the way OneDrive reports sync errors by introducing clearer and more actionable error messages. The update aims to reduce user frustration by explaining exactly what went wrong and how to fix it. The change focuses particularly on issues caused by overly long file paths in OneDrive’s desktop sync client.
OneDrive will provide clearer error messages when file paths exceed the 520-character limit.
The new messages will show exactly how many characters the path exceeds the limit by.
Users will be directed to the specific folder location where the issue occurs, making it easier to fix.
When multiple files are affected, OneDrive will display a single consolidated message instead of multiple alerts.
The improvement will work across both Windows and Mac versions of the OneDrive desktop sync client.
Although the update is relatively small, it addresses a common frustration for OneDrive users dealing with sync errors. By providing clearer explanations and pointing users directly to the problem files, Microsoft hopes to make troubleshooting faster and less confusing. The feature has appeared on the Microsoft 365 roadmap and is expected to arrive in a future OneDrive update. Read More
Agile Flights Introduces a Simpler Way to Manage Projects Without Sprints or Story Points
Agile Flights is a modern project-management tool designed to simplify how teams plan, track, and deliver work. Instead of relying on traditional Agile constructs like sprints, story points, and velocity metrics, the platform introduces the Flights methodology, where projects are treated like “flights” with clear takeoff and landing dates, defined owners, and tasks organized as cargo. The goal is to remove process overhead and help teams focus more on shipping work rather than managing complicated frameworks.
Flights-Based Project Structure – Initiatives are organized as “flights” with a takeoff date, landing deadline, and a responsible owner known as the captain.
Clear Ownership Through Captains and Crew – Each flight has a captain responsible for delivery, while team members act as the crew collaborating on tasks.
Crate-Based Task Management – Work items are called “crates,” simplifying task tracking without the need for story points or complex estimation frameworks.
Minimal Agile Ceremony – The framework removes mandatory rituals like standups, retrospectives, and sprint planning to reduce process overhead.
Simplified Progress Communication – Using aviation metaphors (takeoff, landing, headwinds), teams can communicate project status more clearly across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Agile Flights offers project managers a simplified alternative to traditional Agile frameworks by prioritizing clear ownership, straightforward communication, and outcome-focused delivery. By replacing heavy process rituals with a visual, metaphor-driven workflow, it allows teams to concentrate on execution while still maintaining accountability and visibility. For project managers seeking a leaner way to coordinate work and report progress across teams and leadership, Agile Flights provides a compelling and modern approach to project management.
