Microsoft Shuts Down Skype, Switches To Microsoft Teams
Skype, once the go-to video calling app, officially shut down after over two decades of service. As announced by Microsoft earlier in the year, Skype stopped being available on May 5, 2025, marking the end of an era. This shift underscores the importance of staying agile with the tools teams use to communicate. With Skype being sunset, understanding Microsoft Teams’ capabilities—and its limitations—will be crucial for managing remote collaboration, maintaining team continuity, and planning transitions without disrupting workflows.
